A festive scene unfolded at Watcombe Car Park today as 25 walkers gathered for the annual Christmas Walk. Elves abounded and Mrs. Christmas was there too, dispensing goodies all day.
The walk itself took us along the coast path, a muddy undulating route today as rain threatened. We were lucky as only a short shower descended. Tea on the beach and lunch in the shelter of Stokeinteignhead Church, very welcome after the hills of the morning.
Our final leg took us back to Torquay and through Brunel Woods before returning to the main Teignmouth Road and down to Watcombe again.
Hilary kindly offered nibbles and a raffle at her house, mulled wine supplied by Don and Betty ensured the group were warmed from the inside too.
A lovely festive event and some rosy cheeked walkers emerged after a long and very enjoyable day. Around 8 miles walking, calories replaced with mince pies.
