Andrew’s Labrador Bay Walk – Saturday 14th January

Our walk this week started at Labrador Bay car park and was led by Andrew R.

Despite the awful weather forecast 13 of us set off from the car park and walked in single file along the Teignmouth Rd before turning left up Commons Lane. At the top of the hill we turned left and dropped down the farm track towards Stoke-in-Teignhead with lovely views across the fields and the River Teign on our right. Upon reaching The Church House Inn in the middle of the village we turned left along the road for a short distance before diverting up a track on our left, along a narrow footpath, and into an open area where we had a drinks break.

Following this we re-joined the “main road” as far as Maidencombe Cross. We took the footpath on the other side of the main road and followed it down into the centre of Maidencombe where we had lunch on the village green. After lunch we turned along the coastal footpath back to Labrador car park. Although it was a cloudy day the rain kept off and we arrived back at our starting point in high spirits.
