Saturday 20 January 2018 – Four Coves Walk

35 brave souls met at Churston library to walk the coastal path from Churston to Paignton and return. The walk was led by Paul S. We walked towards Broadsands cutting under the Brunel viaduct, completed just before his untimely death, through Churston Woods, and descending through a quagmire of mud into Elberry Cove, then over the coast path to Broadsands Beach. We then continued along the coast path before descending into Saltarn and Oyster Coves for coffee. After continuing to Goodrington and crossing Roundham Point we descended into Fairy Cove for lunch with views across Paignton Beach and Torquay. After lunch most people left the walk to return home and get themselves hosed down from the ever present mud. A small group of us returned to Churston via the road.”
