There were 15 ramblers who joined Helen for her 7 mile Bovey walk on a warm and sunny day.
We left Station Car Park and proceeded over the road, firstly walking by the river and then going under Hole Bridge eventually joining the path of the old railway. We carried on across the new walk way at the end of this path stopping for coffee shortly before joining the road which goes on to Lustleigh.
The group then continued along this road as far as Knowle where we took a right turn up a track making our way on to Slade Cross. We then crossed over the busy A382 thereafter taking a right-hand turn, the path eventually leading us into Shaptor Woods.
Lunch was taken under some trees before we got into the woods. After a bit of a steep climb we entered the beautiful woods making our way along the winding path until we reached Bearacleve Woods. After leaving Bearacleve we went down Trough Lane back into Bovey where some of us enjoyed afternoon refreshments in Brookside Cafe. It was a lovely walk hopefully enjoyed by all and it was really nice to see some of the ‘old faces’ who had not been able to do many of the Wednesday walks this year.
