There were 10 walkers who met at Exmouth Railway Station for the walk along the Exe Estuary Trail to Topsham.
After a brief visit to M & S by some, we proceeded along the road before joining up with the main trail where we encountered many cyclists en route. We walked through beautiful Lympstone Village and then passed by the Lympstone Commando Training Centre used by the Royal Marines.
We had our lunch on Exton Station. After lunch we continued to walk to Topsham passing the nature reserve at Bowling Green Marsh.
This is a flat walk. It was a hot, quite humid, dry day. Three of our party left us at the Quay Antique Centre in Topsham whereupon the remaining 7 enjoyed afternoon tea (and cake) at ‘The Cafe’ in the main street.
A beautiful walk of around 6 miles by the River Exe Estuary, hopefully enjoyed by all.
