Anne-Marie’s Totnes Circular – Saturday September 28 2019

Twenty five of us turned up this Saturday despite a dodgy weather forecast. As it happened the weather was ideal for walking with a refreshing breeze and even some sun. In order to make our way out of Totnes, we walked along the river past the canoe club and up the new zig zag path. We had a short coffee stop before trundling down the ancient track towards Mill Creek. On arriving at Mill Creek, we were met with a puddle so deep a diversion was needed so we detoured via Aish. We passed the cottage where William of Orange held his first parliament. This was overgrown but incredibly picturesque. Once the busy main road was safely crossed, we headed up the hill to Berry Pomeroy where we enjoyed lunch in the church yard. After lunch, we crossed two fields and down another track to return to Totnes. A great walk. Thanks to Kevin for being back marker and photographer and thanks to Wanda and Peter for back up leader duties.
