It was a fine, cold day as 24 members left the Princess Theatre for Rod & Maggie’s 7 mile circular to Occombe.
We started along the seafront but with the high tide and spray over the sea wall, it was prudent to cross the road.
Later Helen joined us to make 25 in total – a good attendance for a Wednesday.
We continued as far as the old gas works where we turned to take the path through the woods as far as Cockington school for a short drinks break, before entering Cockington/Scadson Woods and walking to Occombe.
After this we went back down the path to Cockington Lakes, where we stopped for lunch. After lunch we walked through the water meadows back to the sea front, to conclude our pleasant circular walk enjoyed in fine weather for the most part.
