Twenty four members met at the Grand Hotel for Rod & Maggie’s Sunday walk to Goodrington and return. The day was cloudy but dry and during the walk we did have some nice periods of bright sunshine much to everyone’s delight. As this walk was arranged at fairly short notice with little time to recky a different route we took the sea road as far as the old gasworks where we turned left and walked through the park and followed the path along Preston sea front and on to Paignton harbour.
We then turned left again to reach the park and dropped down to Goodrington. Here most of us stopped for a coffee/tea at the Cantina which was very busy so some of us had to sit outside which, as it happened, turned out to be quite pleasant as the Cantina was very noisy.
After coffee some of the group left us but the majority followed us back via the railway path and back to Paignton seafront and then the same route back to the Grand Hotel. It was nice for Maggie and I to meet some of the members who normally walk on a Sunday even though it was a fairly short walk within the bounds of The Bay.
