This was the last official club walk until the current coronavirus is over.
We met at Churston Library for a walk to Churston village and return. This walk was put on in response to a request at the AGM for some shorter walks and 18 people turned up for it. It was led by Rod & Maggie Wilson.
Despite this sad news of the suspension of all TBRC Walks currently, we were all in good spirits and the weather kept its side of the bargain and stayed dry.
We walked down to Broadsands beach for a comfort stop and then proceeded over the downs to Elbury Cove and then round to the track which would lead us to the golf course and into the village. We paused here for a few minutes and debated where to go for a coffee at the pub but decided to carry on and have a drink at Broadsands Bistro.
We looped around the village and returned via the golf course and the farm track back to our selected coffee stop. This walk was less than 4 miles and was well attended and during our stop at the Bistro on its terrace we sadly had to say our goodbyes for a while with messages of keep safe and look after yourselves.
A sad day for the club but we are all full of optimism for a speedy return to our walking programme as soon as it is safe to do so.
