Eighteen walkers met today at The Banjo – Bus stop in Kingswear, at 10:00. The weather was not promising due to heavy drizzle but this soon stopped.
We set off for the passenger ferry to Dartmouth where we were joined by Georgina. After climbing the hill towards the castle we climbed again making our way along the higher path towards Little Dartmouth car park. During this time we gained another walker so our complement was now 20.
Some paths were muddy but not too bad and good progress was made. An early lunch was taken in a valley overlooking the sea and sheltered from the increasingly strong wind. The sun even made a brief appearance. After descending into Dartmouth again, some of the group left us for, presumably, ‘Dartmouth shopping’. We again took the passenger ferry arriving in time to catch the 2:00 pm bus, a benefit of the early start. Overall distance was 7.2 miles but this included two ferry crossings.
