The Ramblers Association have advised that officially registered walking groups are covered by the ‘outdoor physical activity events’ exemption and, therefore, do not have to comply with the ‘rule of 6’, introduced on 14th September.
They are supporting walks for groups of 30 maximum, including the leader or leader(s), providing certain precautions are taken. Please see their advice on this link, updated on 23rd September, which broadly applies to all TBRC walks taking place currently and in foreseeable future. We will not be arranging car share or cafe visits which have traditionally been part of Sunday walks. https://www.ramblers.org.uk/volunteer-zone/coronavirus.aspx
The number of walkers allowed on each walk will be AT LEADER’S DISCRETION and bookings must be made. Without a booking it is unlikely you will be able to walk. Contact details will be taken and retained for 21 days. Please sign up for the newsletter to ensure you get the updates.
Please note that all leaders will be required to consider and as far as possible complete, the Ramblers Association Risk Assessment form, available below to download and print.
The revised Saturday and Sunday programmes are now available until the end of December.
It has certainly been an unusual Anniversary year so far! We are still desperately in need of a Walks Co-ordinator with good IT skills if anyone is interested, please contact Rod Wilson.
We will keep you posted with updates, meantime – stay safe – and let’s take our first tentative steps to recovery together.
Best wishes – Committee – October 5th
