20 walkers met and after a duty of care and Covid briefing we began walking along Alston Lane and towards Dartmouth Road. Here drivers courteously allowed us to cross safely.
The route progressed along the bridle path towards the Greenway estate, with time for a coffee break on the log overlooking the River Dart.
Uphill now, towards Galmpton, dropping down through the woods to the quay. We were rewarded here by a Grey Squirrel taking a giant leap from a tree right across the lane to the other side.
We then followed the steps and the zigzag path to Greenway House, once the home of our Dame Agatha Christie of course. We had anticipated lunch on the picnic benches but unfortunately they were occupied by a family enjoying their barbeque, so we had to settle for logs and earth .. sorry folks will try better next time!!!!
After lunch we took a detour along Combe Lane to Galmpton and to Churston where some of the group departed to begin their journey home to Torquay. The remaining 11 carried on back to Lupton via Churston Village and back to Brixham.
In the main the day was sunny and altogether another excellent Saturday walk was enjoyed.
